Based on an article by Wil Haygood in the Washington Post, the tape will tell the true story of Eugene Allen (Oyelowo), a man who worked as a butler in the White House since 1952 President Harry Truman to Ronald Reagan in 1986 with the charge. Among other things Haygood says that when Allen began working in the White House, not even able to use the public restrooms in Virginia, his hometown.
